1) Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/ Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. 
2) A Ph.D. Degree in library science / information science / documentation / archives and manuscript-keeping. 
3) Evidence of innovative library services, including the integration of ICT in a library. 
4) At least 10 years as Dy. Librarian (AGP/GP Level-12/Pay Level-12, including a minimum 3 years of experience in AGP/ GP Level-13A/Pay Level-13A) in the Library of any Technical University, Educational Institute of National importance, or any other large Technical Library.

Age Limit (आयु): 56 Years

Essential Qualification and Experience (अनिवार्य शैक्षिक आवश्यकता और अनुभव):
1. A Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/ Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point - scale wherever the grading system is followed. 
2. A Ph.D. Degree in library science/ information science/ documentation / archives and manuscript-keeping. 
3. Evidence of innovative library services, including the integration of ICT in a library. 
4. At least 8 years as Assistant Librarian (AGP/GP Level10/Pay Level- 10), (should have gained experience for at least 2 years in AGP/GP Level-11/Pay Level-11), in the Library of any Higher Education Institute/University, Educational Institute of National importance, or any other large Scientific or Technical Institute Library.

(ii) Qualifying in the national level test such as NET/SLET/SET conducted for the purposed by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.
Desirable: 1) PG Diploma in Library Automation and Networking or PGDCA or equivalent. 
2) Candidate with higher degree (Ph. D. or equivalent) in a relevant Discipline shall be preferred.
