Post of Deputy Librarian, Assistant Librarian, Senior Library Information Assistant, Library Information Assistant at IIT Gandhinagar Last Date: 05/03/2020

Applications are invited online applications for the following posts.

Post (पद): Deputy Librarian (01 UR-PwD)

Essential Qualification (अनिवार्य शैक्षिक आवश्यकता) and Experience(अनुभव):

(i) Postgraduate degree in Library science/ informationscience/ documentation, with at least 55% marks or its  equivalent  grade  and  a  consistently  good academic record. 
(ii) At least  08  years of work experience as Assistant Librarian  with  Level  10  or  a  higher  position  at  an University or reputed Institute Library.
Desirable (वांछनीय आवश्यकता): Ph.D degree in Library science/ information science/ documentation/ archives & manuscript keeping. Experience  of  ICT  application  and  innovation  in library services. Scholarly publications.
Age limit(आयु सीमा): 50  years  as  on  last  date  of  submitting application.

Pay( वेतन ): Rs. 78,800/-  in  Pay  Level  12 (Rs. 78,800- Rs. 2,09,200),  (with  Transport  Allowance and  DA  presently  applicable,  the  gross-excluding HRA- adds up to  Rs. 1,00,620/- p.m.).   (The incumbent will be moved to Level 13 after 05 years as per prevailing norms) 

Post (पद): Assistant Librarian (02 UR)

Essential Qualification (अनिवार्य शैक्षिक आवश्यकता) and Experience(अनुभव):

(i) Master’s  degree  in  Library  Science/  Information Science/ Documentation   with   at least   55% marks   of   its   equivalent   grade   and   a consistently good academic record. Qualifying in the National Level Test conducted for the purpose by UGC or any other agency approved by UGC. However, candidates with Ph.D degree in Library Science shall be exempted from the eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET. 

(ii) At  least  05  years  of  relevant  work  experience  in Level 06 or more in reputed academic or research institute/ university library. 
Desirable (वांछनीय आवश्यकता):  03 years’ experience in Level 07
Age limit (आयु सीमा): 45  years  as  on  last  date  of  submitting application

Pay( वेतन ): Rs. 56,100/-in Pay Level 10 ( Rs. 56,100-Rs.1,77,500),  (with  Transport  Allowance  and  DA presently  applicable,  the  gross-excluding  HRA- adds up to Rs. 74,061/- p.m.).   (The incumbent will be moved to Level 11 after 05 years as per prevailing norms)

Post (पद): Senior Library Information Assistant (01 UR)

Essential Qualification (अनिवार्य शैक्षिक आवश्यकता) and Experience(अनुभव):

(i) Master’s  degree  in  Library  Science/  Information Science/ Documentation with at least 55% marks or equivalent  grade  and  consistently  good  academic record.

(ii) 03 years’ relevant experience in library of a reputed organization
Desirable (वांछनीय आवश्यकता):  One year postgraduate diploma/ certificate course in computer  application  in  libraries  from  a  recognizedInstitution. Proficiency  in classification and cataloging of library materials (print and digital) and variety of IT tools for library applications.
Age limit(आयु सीमा): 32  years  as  on  last  date  of  submitting application

Pay( वेतन ): Rs. 35,400/-in Pay Level 6 (Rs. 35,400-Rs. 1,12,400),  (with  Transport  Allowance  and  DA presently  applicable,  the  gross-excluding  HRA- adds up to Rs. 45,630/- p.m.)

Post (पद): Library Information Assistant (03-UR, 01-OBC)

Essential Qualification (अनिवार्य शैक्षिक आवश्यकता) and Experience(अनुभव):

(i) Master’s  Degree  in  Library  Science/  Information Science/ Documentation with at least 55% marks or its  equivalent  grade  from  recognized University  and consistently good academic record. 

(ii) Minimum 01  year  work  experience  in  a  reputed  academic  or research institute/ university library.

Desirable (वांछनीय आवश्यकता): Proficiency in classification and  cataloging  of  library materials (print and digital) and variety of IT tools for library application.
Age limit(आयु सीमा): 27 years  as  on  last  date  of  submitting application

Pay( वेतन ): Rs. 29,200/-in Pay Level 5 (Rs. 29,200- Rs. 92,300),  (with  Transport  Allowance  and  DA presently  applicable,  the  gross-excluding  HRA- adds up to Rs. 38,376/- p.m.).
Last Date (अंतिम तारीख): 05/03/2020

Online  application  at  the  Institute  website  (www.iitgn.ac.in)  must  be  submitted between  10:00  hrs.  on  05  February  2020  to  23:59  hrs  on  05  March  2020. Application fee of Rs 200/- (no application fee for SC, ST, PwD,Ex-Servicemen and Women candidates) is also to be paid online.
