Indian Museum, Kolkata invited applications from eligible candidates for filling the following post:
Post (पद): Library and Information Officer
No. of Posts (रिक्तियों की संख्या): 01 (UR)
Essential Qualification and Experience (अनिवार्य शैक्षिक आवश्यकता और अनुà¤à¤µ):
(i) Masters or equivalent Hon’s Degree of a recognised University in Indian History or Anthropology or Arts.
(ii) Diploma in Library Science of a recognised University or Institution.
(iii) Years’ experience in a Library of standing in India preferably a Museum Library.
(iv) 7 Research experience with evidence of published research work in Archaeology or Art or Anthropology
Pay (वेतनमान): Level – 6, (Rs.35,400 – 1,12,400)
Age Limit (आयु): 30 years
Last Date (अंतिम तारीख): 23.10.2026

Applications, complete in all respects in the prescribed format along with the self-attested legible copies of proof of age / date of birth, academic / professional qualifications, caste certificate, experience, list of publications (if applicable), etc and name of the post superscribed on the envelope should reach to the Director, Indian Museum, 27, Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Kolkata-700016 on or before 23.10.2026 (up to 5:00 p.m.) or the applications complete in all respects as stated above can be sent through email to indianmuseumkolkata2@gmail.com on or before 23.10.2026 (up to 5:00 p.m.). Separate application in separate envelope to be submitted in case any candidate desires to apply for multiple posts.
Candidates employed in Central/State Government/ Semi Government/ Universities/ PSU/ Statutory or Autonomous organisations under the Central/State Government should apply through proper channel.
