Essential Qualification and Experience (अनिवार्य शैक्षिक आवश्यकता और अनुभव):
Master’s Degree in Library Science/ Information Science/Documentation with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 points scale or at least 60% marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record set out in these Regulations.
Experience: i) holding analogous post or
ii) At least ten years’ experience as a Deputy Librarian in the library of technical University, educational institute of national importance, or any other large technical library at least 3 years being spent on a post in PB-4 (Rs.37400 - 67000/) with GP of Rs.8700/- or an equivalent post.
iii) Experience (supported with evidence) of innovative Library service and commitment for computerization of library.
Desirable: Higher degree (Ph. D. or equivalent) in a relevant Discipline directly relevant to Library Science/ Information Science/Documentation.
Pay (वेतनमान): PB 4 (Rs.37400-67000) with GP of Rs.10000/-

-During Google form submission, the candidate should upload a scanned copy of the duly filled prescribed application form along with all documents, including the receipt of fees, in a single PDF file. The application form is available on the Institute's website. Applicants must have to apply in the prescribed format only. No other application format will be entertained. Additional sheets may be attached if space is found to be insufficient. Application forms must be supported with attested /self-certified copies of Degrees/ Certificates, age proof, supporting documents for experience, if any, a copy of the Aadhaar / Govt. approved valid photo ID card; and the information provided in the Google form and the Application form to be uploaded in the PDF format should be the same, otherwise the application will summarily be rejected.
-Candidates employed in the Govt./Autonomous Bodies/PSUs need to apply through the proper channel addressed to ‘Registrar, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, P.O.-Botanic Garden, Howrah 711103’, superscribing ‘Application for the Post of Librarian’ on the envelope. An Advance Copy of the application is to be submitted through online mode (through the prescribed Google form) within the due date and time. Such candidates need to bring a “No Objection Certificate” from their present employer at the time of the interview.
